I have a whole in my muffler so I am moving on the bigger and better things. I am looking at the Flowmaster 40 series, cheap and good name. My Question is that the factory is 2.50 in and 2.25 out, what size muffler should I get? Also how would it sound? If I ran 3 inch pipe from muffler back would that mess up my back pressure causing me to lose acceleration? I like my speed and the deep muscle sound please let me know what you think.

The Flowmaster is fine - my daughter's 97 had one. But I don't think there's much you can do to get decent exhaust tone from e Blazer. They all sound like they have the farts.

I installed a "Flowmaster Clone" and the sounddidn't change, but then I had a plugged cat. conv. So I installed a "high-flow" cat and the sound improved dramaticaly.

I would not go any bigger than 2.5 inches for the tailpipe on a V-6. I have a 3 in dual 2.5 out Magnaflow on my Blazer and love it. But of course I got the muffler for free. Plus a 3 inch tailpipe would be a hard fit for a late model Blazer. I have a couple pics of it in my gallery.Korey

You should get some sound clips of that... both free rev, and under load, lol

Flowmaster's are good, I recently switched over to the 40 series and it sounds better every day. I've always gone with 2.5" on the exit single or dual.

Ok, I was going to try to reuse the 2.25 tailpipe. Do you think a bigger tip would help with sound or better off just running 2.50?

Yeah, Klblazer07, Mine also sounds great now that it is broken in, I actually did not like it at first. Blazerx85, I personally would use a 2.5 inch, but that decision is totally up to you. I don't think the sound will change that much between the 2 sizes, just the flow would not be as great. But yes a large tip will make it sound different. Korey.
