Default Exhaust manifold question

I had to remove the exhaust manifold to replace a freeze plug and noticed that there was no signs of a gasket on the manifold. Does my 95 blazer need an exhaust manifold gasket, or can I just bolt it back on?

Thanks
Bizzs

Originally it did not have a gasket, auto parts stores can get them if you want/need them.

so what your saying is that I do not need to put them on and just bolt manifold back on?

When everything is new, (head & manifold) the surfaces are flat and a gasket is not necessary. Assuming they are still flat, you don't need a gasket. If it leaks without a gasket, it needs a gasket
