Fan Clutch Help...
...me again everyone - and its my first technical post - so please take it easy on me!
just bought my 98 blazer a couple of weeks ago, and of course the used car woes are starting to show themselves.
dropped the mrs. off at work this morning, stopped to get a cup of coffee at the gas station and when i got back in i saw that the 'check gages' light was on and the temperature gage was resting on '260'
so i shut it off popped the hood, looked for leaks - none. restarted the motor looked for leaks again - none. then realized the radiator fan wasnt turning at all. i shut it off, let it cool down and drove it back home. went and got a thermostat (because thats just what i always do when im starting to have overheating problems) and still had the same problem once i started it back up.
came in the house did some research, made a call and determined the fan clutch is out. so i guess thats the next step. the part isnt too terribly expensive - what i need to know is are there any tricks or special instructions i need to know to change out this part and the level of difficulty. any advice on this matter would be great.
thanks in advance!
