There is a resistor for these control switches that fail commonly.I don't know exactly where this is located on the S-series,in the full-size trucks they are right behind the control switch. They are like $20 at NAPA

The resistor is just to the right of the blower motor on the fire wall. From what i have read is that if the resistor is going bad you lose some of the fan speed control first.
Check that you have power at the connection....if you do yoir blower motor is prob burned out. Replacement is not hard. There is most likely a how to rollin around here somewhere.

I never condone hitting a car, they can sense anger and feel pain and will take it out on you. But in this case, it worked, I think you might have a kinky blazer.

Hmmm-If slaming it worked, would that not give the indication of a faulty switch? When I parted my 96 I kept the switch just for this eventuality.Just wondering...

So what is wrong when I hit the dash on my Honda Civic & the radio starts to work on both front speakers rather than just one before I hit it? I guess the Honda says Oh that the sweet spot. Maybe it get off every time I hit it?
