Default Problem with Fan hitting the fan guard

Ok, I am not sure what started this problem but I am hoping that someone can help me out a bit. I have a 199 Chevy blazer and in the last couple months, I noticed that the problem is getting worse. When I start the truck, the fan seems to be hitting the plastic fan guard around it and I don't know why. If I push on the plastic piece hard enough, it stops doing it but as soon as I let go, it goes back to the problem. I don't know if the plastic is warped or what so any advice or ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks so much
Valeria

You may have a broken motor mount allowing the engine to twist and causing the fan to clip the shroud.

Not sure what the MM's look like on the S10's (ain't had to change that yet) but I changed them on my 81 Z28 because they'd deteriorated and the engine had "sunk" down so the fan was rubbing the bottom of the shroud.

That gets me thinking. My shroud got torn up and when I changed out my LIM I just removed the lower shroud. Someday when I get a new one I'll have to check the mounts.

99% of the time on 4.3s the motor mount is the problem. Seems its the pass side if I recall correctly more often then the drivers.

I would fix it as soon as you can. If the motor has dropped/twisted that means the transmission & transfer case are also out of line & maybe putting extra load on driveshaft joints etc.

Thank you all so much! I will definitely be checking the motor mounts and seeing if that is the problem. I really appreciate the help.

Also as a 1%er. Check the shroud itself. I had the bottom part of the shroud come lose and had to reajust it. That happens more then likely if someone has change out the clucth (sp) fan and took the shroud all the way out. (I did, made a mistake there). I finally bought a new one and put it in. The price even through I forget it wasn't that much. (bottom part).
