Default Faulty ignition switch diagnosis and replacement

This is an excellent video on how to replace your ignition switch by one of the best guys on the internet with diagnosis and repair videos - South Main Auto. I’m not affiliated, just a fan. His name is Eric O., not to be confused with Eric the Car Guy in other videos. Don’t let his unassuming, awe shucks manner fool you, he is an excellent resource for repair work. Anyhow, here is his tutorial on replacement of the ignition switch. The video that follows is an excellent illustration of the diagnostic process (that I advocate so routinely here) that condemned the switch in the first place which is also very informative:

I am also a big fan of Eric O. and his shop in Avoca, NY. This is a small village in upstate and he is a big outdoorsman and hunter. His wife works as the receptionist , coordinator, and scheduler for the shop. She orders the needed parts for the repairs. She also cooks their lunch and does day care for their three children after school. He occasionally puts out a WUW or What's Up Wednesday for general topics. He is a master at the scanner diagnosis. But he is also a professional mechanic and has gathered an amazing selection of tools over the years. One big concern is he does not like to get phone calls at the shop to ask a repair question or to chat. He doesn't have time to do that. And yes, he does know Eric the Car Guy and they are friends. His video's are informative as well as entertaining. He works on a wide variety of cars and trucks from Subaru's to full size Chevy and Ford trucks and vans. He is not a foreign car specialist such at BMW, Mercedes, and Volvos.

The two best video repair resources on the internet are Eric O./South Main Auto and Scanner Danner (Paul Danner). The first is more guy to guy and the second is more academic. Anytime I want to look something up/learn I check those guys first. If you want to see master usage of a scanner to diagnose tough problems try Paul and consider his book.
