filter oil

Default filter oil

what could happin if my oil has been changed but not the oil filter its self?

was it at least taken down and drained?? it holds oil in it so the oil level will be a little higher than normal, when was the last time it was changed?

I agree, the oil filter is a cheap investment and theresults (worst case)ofnot changing it could do harm over the long term.

what would happin if my filter got changed but not the oil same thing kinda right, my oil needs to get changed soon it would be my 2nd oil change i have done in my life but i had a good teacher teach me the 1st time how to do it propper,

Most oils can go way beyond 3000mi/3mo, but most filters can as well. If the engine is particularly dirty, you'd want to change them both at the same time so you don't have any problems. With an oil change costing anywhere from $20-$40 depending on choice of materials (filter/oil), it is cheap insurance.

yea when i changed my oil in the blaze it was also my 1st time doing an oil change but i did it right i changed the oil and the filter i just didint know if it would be a big deal if i just changed the oil and not the filter. the oil filter is a napa wix

I think what they're getting at is why would you go through the trouble of the oil change and not do the filter? The filter is cheap, it's a quick change out, and it further protects your engine. Why leave the job half done?

yea i know that i just wanted to know what would happin, i change my own oil in my car feels more better to change it myself makes me feel like a man lol but my stepdad goes to a shop and get his vans and my moms car becouse he doesint have to time and doesint know how to change it himself and couple times i notice the oils been changed and they never even touched the filter at the oil change shop.

but i was also told hundreds of time by my family and my dad that do the job smart and not hard and to just do it the propper way the 1st time
