Default Fitting 30x9.5R15 Tires on 15x8 4" BS Wheels

Hello again everyone!

I wanted to pose a question before I went out and bought a set of tires to get my old Jimmy back on the road. I've got a set of 15x8 D-Window wheels that are 4" backspaced and I'd like to throw a set of 30x9.5's on them. I'm currently a stock 2WD setup, and this will most likely be my camping rig and road trip vehicle as my Silverado's 5.7 is a bit of a gas guzzler for long trips.

Has anyone used this setup before to fit 30's on their 2WD Jimmy/Blazer? I've searched up so much conflicting information from this board, S10 Forums and S-Series Forums to know what's right and what's wrong. Would just like to know if I can fit it at stock height or if I should body lift it. Any advice is appreciated, thanks!

I fit 30"s on my ride, but it is 4x4.
I do know that much backspacing would definitely alter the turning radius on my blazer, without a body/suspension lift.

What year is your Jimmy?

1996, I know the 4x4 guys can do it but I'm not sure how well the 2WD could. Lol

Think I found a better method to approach this with. After doing some digging on Summit's website, I found that Bassett makes a DOT-Approved NASCAR style wheel with aggressive backspacing. So, killing two birds with one stone, I can both use a more appropriate wheel width to wear the 30's on, have my 2" spaced out wheels instead of using questionable wheel spacers, and hopefully run the 30's with no lift whatsoever. I've discovered a guy who did a 2" lift on his S10 and reported zero rubbing, and since the Blazer/Jimmy sits an inch or two higher than the S10 by that math I should be able to fit the 30's with ease.

On my 4x4 the 30's fit with 2" body lift. I've also applied a set of 2" wheel spacers to every wheel, but the front tires on a stock rims were rubbing the fender on hard turns. So finally I've them removed. Why don't You get an old 30's tire from the wreckers or a tire workshop to try them out? I would expect that the rear might fit, but I doubt the front ones. Even with backspacing...

Finding a set of old tires around here is difficult, or else trust me I would lol. I'm not afraid of a body lift if it's needed, I'm just curious about fitment. Surely someone's tried this on their 2WD at some point lol
