Ok so I have a 2000 trailblazer that I just finished putting all new gaskets from the heads up. I noticed that the manual says the intake gaskets are torqued at 22 ft. lbs. so I did this and the intake leaked like a water spicket
. So I talked to a gm tech and he said they should be torqued at 35 ft. bls. now after everything was retorqued and out back together I started her up and she runs fine at idle but when you rev it up or drive it, its like it's missing or something. So im wondering if the plugs could be fouled out from all the dexcol that went through the cylinders when I started it up and it was leaking. I f I pull the plugs out what should I be looking for if they are fouled? Thanks

The Dexcool shouldn't have made it to the cylinders if it was just the intake gasket leaking. That would have to be the head gasket.

Ok so I failed to mention that the engine light was on sorry the code was p1345 (ckp cmp correlation) WHAT EVER THE HELL THAT MEANS
I read a couple of threads on here about it having to do with the cam position sensor and a timing issue. Well I got it timed right but i'm still haveing jerking and missing issues will driveing it all most feels like a tps when it goes bad. But it has not threw a code for that only the p1345. After putting it in time the right way the code is gone but I'm still jerking and missing when driveing or sitting in park and reving the engine. I also pulled the plugs to check them and they long great, the plug wires look good not broken or cracked and all are making good connection. So I have no clue whats going on with this dang thing
. Can someone tell me if I am overlooking something or is there something I missed? Thanks

Ok new update I hooked it up to a scan tool and it showed cylinder 1 and 3 misfire but #3 cylinder was way more than the #1 cylinder. So I pulled the plugs and wires and changed them and no luck so the scan tool said the cam pos. was -12 so I tried resetting the timing now I can't get this damn thing to start and every time I go back to the basics meaning cylinder 1 tdc and set the dist. in place it still runs like **** and the scan tool still says misfire in #3 and #1 and cam pos -12. WTF!!!!!!! I am so lost now I really don't know what to do. PLEASE I NEED SOME DIRECTION AND HELP PLEASE!!!!!!

Check the big plug that goes into the intake for the fuel injectors for bent pins and such. Misfires can be caused by erratic fuel delivery too. Verify all 6 wires are connected properly, the cap and wires should have cylinder #'s on 'em. If the wires are out of sequence it's possible the blame is being laid wrong.

OK Ron jon I pulled the connector off no bent prongs and all wires are secure and plugs wires are right. Still no luck and even more so now it is miss firing on cylinders 1,3,4,5 but mostly on number 3. could the spider assembly be clogged up or something? I have a extra one lying around I think I'm going to swap it out and see if this makes a difference

I've replaced my LIMs twice now and it purred like a kitten each time when I got done (amazing considering last time I took a 4 gallon bucket of oil/water out). I'm trying to think of what could've been changed. You sure you got your distributor timing back in the same spot, not a tooth off? Out of curiosity I went out and checked my truck to compare to your readings. This is a cold motor (38° - just started) Timing advance: 19-20.5 degrees at idle. Cam retard: 3.1 degrees, varies to 3.2 when I goose it. I didn't have a negative in front of mine (could just be our respective scanners) but 3 to -12 is 15°. I don't known how many teeth are on a distributor gear but if it's 24 (sounds like too many, but...) seems like you're off a tooth. My distributor has a square base for the hold down so I can't mis-time it if I drop in in right. Also if you're off a tooth that would explain the correlation code and even if you could rotate the distributor it wouldn't correct the correlation.

Like RonJon said above, make sure distributor is at correct timing. We put mine back in one tooth off after a lower intake manifold replacement, and it absolutely would not start. Had to keep moving it a tooth at a time until we got it right.
