in 2000 GM decided to re locate that canister making it a PITA to find lol. (at least i think it was in 2000) mine is just attached to the underside of my hood :P if you go to a junk yard and get a new one i recommend getting the one that attaches to the underside of the hood. which should be 95-99 blazers.

Both our 1998 and 2002 have that small nipple coming out of fender and that is all I can see. The one on the hood sounds like a good fix location should that nipple get broken off that was a concern when working blind to replace the hose.

It really is only a pain to find if you have no idea what/where you are looking. Otherwise, it is efficient use of space.

Well you nailed it on the head Swartlkk I realy don't know what I'm looking at. So it's a black box that sits inside the fender behind the ABS brake system?

Which links to an older post that has a picture showing the vacuum canister location. In the picture, the large hole to the left with 4 smaller holes around it is the portion of the firewall where the brake booster bolts on.

It there trust me I didn't think it was either. Been looking for that damn thing for weeks, just found it a few minutes ago when I got home frm work.. just use ur finger to feel for the nipple. In fact there's gonna be a bolt that's more less sitting some what above it. Good luck. And yeah my vac line is gonna need changing. I'm gonna change all of them in the coming weeks.

Thanks for the diagram it really helped, I just went out and checked, sure enough, there isn't anything there. There are marks and some dried up glue that show that it is supposed to be there but no dice. What should my next coarse of action be. I do not know how long ago the vehicle was wrecked, my grandfather has the records for the repair. Do you think that if I take it to the shop that did the work they would fix it?

I think you already know the answer to that question... I would bet no. It would only take your time to go down there and ask though.
