How would that highlighter have gotten past the anti-drainback valve in the end of the filler neck?

That's what I was thinking. On mine there isn't enough room to slip a piece of tubing in to siphon. How did a marker get past it?

I've just recently had the filler neck off my Jimmy and there just isn't room between the ball and the side of the filler neck to get a highlighter past whether the ball is floating or not. I think someone would have had to remove the filler neck from the tank and drop the highlighter directly in the tank for that to happen.

I disagree but everyones entitled to their own opinion.
seems like an awful lot of work to put a highlighter in someone's gas tank though..

I agree. I saw mine when I had my gas tank down. The ball takes up most of the diameter of the filler neck. There is absolutely no room for much of anything between that ball and the sides of the filler neck.

Although, maybe the ball got lost at some point when someone had the tank down, and the hi-lighter got put in later? Who knows.
