Hey guys, I've really been struggling here searching for some information/tech articles that would educate me on our front axles.
I know next to nothing about the stock IFS axles we have and I would love to learn everything about them. (I know random words of pieces that are up there, but like, the important stuff, not a clue)

So yeah, as I said, I've been failing at searching for some article like front axles for dummies.

So, anyone know of any good articles that would vastly boost my knowledge of our front axles? (By the way, my Blazer is a 2002)

Thanks.

4x4, and no problems (yet), but I'd just really like to learn about all that and so far been unlucky in my searching.

Well the front axles are aluminum, they are a drivers side differential, the Blazer's and Jimmy's have a vacuum switch to engage the front axle but Bravada's have a full time engaged front axle. Everything about these axles are the same thing as the fullsize trucks but the axle housings and parts are downsized.

Thanks for the info bro. What I am mainly trying to learn is how it works. The specific parts and such.

If your vacum switch is crappy for sometime #7 thrust washer likes to turn itself into three pieces. They come from the dealer in a pack that includes #20 #24 #7 and one dup. can't remember witch one. Have no idea the reason for the extra.
