Default Front Brake Caliper?

Hi all. I almost lost my 96 Blazer yesterday. Had to make an emergency stop & she wouldn’t stop for crap. Last June a 100% brake job was done on the rear brakes(drums) & all the front except for the calipers.

Today i inspected the fronts. The drivers side rotor is excellent, but take a look at the back side pass. rotor. Replace the caliper? The pedal is spongy.

Common problem with the blazers...I would replace the rotor due to the groving I can see but also assure the caliber slides properly on the mount, if it doesn't you need to either grease them or replace the pins until they do properly slide

What did your pads look like? Any rocks or anything in them?

The rust on the rear face of the rotor indicates that that side wasn't fullu engaging. How does the pad look? Do you have a digital caliper to take some measurements of the thicknesd of the rotor in differemt spots? If anything, use a straight edge and try to check for warping of the rotor. I'm thinking you may be replacing the rotors also, if they're to thin to be turned.

Pads both look good. I don't see any warping with the rotor. The readings were very consistent all around. Just around .0045" more stock on the front side. However, the top pin is floating normally, but the bottom pin was seized.

I will take the rotor in Monday to see if it can be turned. Autozone lists brake calipers for $11.99 & Duralast rotors for $39.99. They also sell new bolt/pin kits, but i will try to remove, clean, & lub the pins. Thanks for the responses.

I would see about having both rotors turned.
