Default Front Passenger window only works when it is wet or rained

2002 4 door. The front passenger electrical window quit working. Neither the driver side or passenger side button would work to roll it down. Turns out it would work only when wet, such as after a rain or if my sprinkler system hit it in the morning.

Do I need to replace the whole motor? I'm guessing the water is completing a missing circuit.

Any ideas?

thanks,

I'd say you need to get inside the door and have a look at the wiring.

I had that problem on another car I owned. It wasn't a matter of the water completing a circuit, but rather simply making the window more slippery and easier for the tired old motors to do their thing. Chances are you've got some corroded connections in their. That's what fixed mine.
