Fuel Economy
If this isnt the best place for this please let me know.
I got my 04 Blazer right before I started a new job, and didn’t realize I will be driving 5000+ miles a month, and how much the gas would end up costing.. Not complaining I love my Blazer, but had a few questions regarding fuel economy.. My work pays for everything except for gas. I mean they pick up the Payment, and insurance, but not gas. I was wondering if there was anything that can be done to improve gas mileage? I have to carry a good amount of parts, and tools, but the truck is not overweight. I was wondering if people could post their thoughts on improving MPG. I would love to here people's thoughts on this no matter how extreme. Other than full out engine swap (love the 4.3) I would like to know the pro’s, and con’s of these changes also if it will affect warranty! I will be driving this for probably 4 years or so, but would be interested to here what some options may be. Im thinking things like intake, ignition system, and such….

Thought I'd bump this to the top as I would be interested as well...getting delivery of a new Jimmy in a week and was curious about this.
Someone mentioned to me that simply putting a K&N filter in would improve fuel economy...any thoughts on that anyone?

A few ideas
Volant or K&N cold air intake kits
Throttle body spacer
Headers
Free flow exhaust (flowmaster is what I would suggest 40 series sounds great on them)
With all that on my 1997 blazer I get around 16-18 mpg around town and going from 24 to up to 27!!! mpg on the highway

What is a 'throttle body spacer' and what do you mean by headers?
