Default Fuel Guage

I am lost, I just replaced the engine in my 2000 blazer 2 door 2 wheel drive. Everything went good. The only thing that is giving me problems is the fuel gauge it has always worked fine. It was working when we drove it in the garage. Now the fuel gauge stays on the empty with the low fuel light on. There is no service engine light on. When the Blazer is sitting and not running the fuel guage creeps up to about 1/2 tank.As soon asyou turn the key to on it goes back to empty. I will also go back to empty if you push the trip. I have looked at all the wiring under the blazer checked all grounds andplugs. Added extra grounds and still the same. Can anyone help me. Where can I get a good wiring diagram of this area.

Thanks Jerry
