Drive by your trip meter, plan on changing your fuel pump to fix it.

Depending on the year of the truck, you can replace just the sending unit at a greatly reduced cost. However, the repair procedure for the sending unit is identical to that of the replacing the pump with the exception of pulling the sending unit off of your current pump and installing the new one.

And again, the price of the pump depends highly on the year of the truck we are talking about. That is why it is always a good idea to include this information in your post.

My 2000 Blazer does the same thing. I use the trip odometer and refill whenever it hits 230 just to be safe.

speaking of the sending unit, kyle do you know who sells just the sending unit part of the pump i checked with autozone and they don't have that as an option, my blaze is a 2wd 2dr. 2001 4.3 vortec v6 if its not an option for just the sending unit, and i have to replace the whole pump that is expensive through autozone, im hopeing i can do just the sending unit.

any ac delco dealer should have them. I spent alot of money on my blazer and just went ahead and replaced the entire pump. But i know they sell them seperate.
