Default Fuel Line Replacement

I just successfully replaced the fuel pump on my 2000 2-door...

Then I found that the fuel line that runs to the filter is rusted to the point of leaking.

To save my life I cannot get that line out. Do I have to cut it and then get it welded back together on the car itself? Or is there actually a way to remove it? It's so long and twists in so many directions.

Thanks!

Here is a new end that fits the fuel filter. You can connect a 3/8" compression union to it to join it with another steel line: Needa Parts Steel Fuel Line Repair Kit - 3/8" x 4" with 16mm Clip 800-170: Search no more for the best Steel Fuel Line Repair Kits at Advance Auto Parts=

Thanks for this info. That's exactly what I had to do. For anyone else with this problem, it was simple.

I had to cut the line out from under the car at a convenient place (use a pipe cutter or a hack saw, but a pipe cutter is vastly superior) and then go and get the bad section remade at a local mechanic (I got a 2' section remade for $30).

Then get a coupling that fits and attach the two. Worked like a charm!
