Just changed out all my lines on my 2000. Ordered the replacement pre bent rear fuel line kit that came with a filter.

WHen I reconnected the fuel filter to the quick disconnect, it leaked. I realized that the old filter had some rings on it so i tried to fit them inside the quick disconnect and now it does not seem to fit properly and I cant get the connector on the fuel filter

Does anyone know for sure which line is the return and evap coming from the engine at the fuel filter area? I dont want to mix them up. If I look at the engine block area, the lines are stacked ( top middle and bottom) I am fairly certain I have the large one connected to the fuel filter but I could be wrong. also does anyone have a picture of what the quick connect should have inside it as for o rings?
