Default Fuel Pump?

Was driving home when all of a sudden complete loss of power, and then eventually stalled. Just barely managed to make it home. I turn the key and I can hear the pump priming, it will start but only for about 5 to 10 seconds and then just die. It has been misfiring for a while to. Any ideas? Thanks.

Which one of the trucks in your sig is this on?

Regardless, a fuel pressure test would be a good place to start.

It's the Jimmy. Are there usually tell tale signs before a pump goes? I also forgot to mention that right before this happened I loaded a really heavy dresser in the back and dropped it in, could that cause something to come loose? I actually forgot about the Blazer, I need to do something with that. Anyways I have a friend with a pressure tester that's going to help me this weekend, keeping my fingers crossed. And would a fuel pump from a 95 work in a 97? Thanks.

It's highly unlikely that loading anything into the truck would cause the pump to stop working.

And the pump likely will not work. Without looking up PNs, etc, I can't say for sure. A little bit of time comparing things on RockAuto.com should give you the answer to that question.

Problem solved. MAF electrical connection worked itself off just enough for me not to notice. Glad it wasn't the fuel pump. Just waiting to see what will go wrong next.
