Cool Fuel Pump Assistance :/

2001 Blazer 2dr, 2wd manual.

Fuel pump installation issue. Everything was almost done and I snapped one of the ends on the pump, autozone exchanged after speaking to a district manager, anyone have any suggestions as to how to connect the quick connects easier? I reach my arm near the tailpipe over and just can't get a good grip on it without having to leverage the tank slightly lower. I don't want to break another fuel pump tip. I'm pretty close to just buying a sawzall and cutting an access panel. Bought a Delphi, the old one i pulled was an airtex..... Searched the forums and plenty of youtube videos but found nothing really specific about the connections.

Long live the manuals. Thanks guys.

No not really . It is a pain but thats pretty much how it needs to be done. I broke the ends of the old pump taking it out and had to give it a couple of tries to get them together on the new pump. They really should have made an access panel in the body for these Blazers but i guess they always want them coming back to the stealership for this type of work.

I always apply a little lube to the ends before trying to attach them. It always helps once you get things lined up. Getting them lined up, well, that's another problem.

Lining em up isn't my problem. The middle line just will not go on. So.......got myself a jigsaw, about to go buy some new drill bits. Not dealing with this **** again. What did you lube the ends with, fuel? Or? Thanks again both of you.

They should slip on with ease! Have you checked for obstructions in the line preventing it from fully seating?

No problem after I cut a 6x6 square near the fuel pump between the crossmember. Jumped it, but the battery has almost ZERO juice though. Charged it up at Advanced Auto to 400, letting them charge it over night. But it runs like new, no bad smells, no visual leaks. Runs amazing, definitely think this will be a long term vehicle. Gotta love that free Gibson Exhaust System the p/o installed.
