The hole in the floor that should have been there from the factory. Good call, that's probably what I'll do next time. My Toyota SUV has that feature but I have been staring at that access port for 276,000 miles thinking about that easy 1 hr pump change but the fuel pump on that one still runs strong. Well I have not actually been staring at it for 16 years but you get the point.

George the hole in the floor is definitely the way to go on a four door! Ten minutes to change the fuel pump once the hole is cut! My Jimmy is almost always covered in mud and muck and getting under it is never fun! A trip to the car wash to spray the top of the tank off and then the hole got cut. Flip the rear seat down, cut the carpet to flip it out of the way. I drilled a couple holes in the corners and made the cuts with a jig saw. Change the pump and then riveted a tab to hold the new access panel closed and some rvt. Flip the carpet and seat back and no one even knows it's there.

 

That's almost cheating. LOL

I thought about this, but I assumed there wouldn't be a lot of room to maneuver tools.

 

I had plenty of room. The 3" body lift helps.
