Fuel Pump Id ?
I found a local guy parting his blazer due to a collision.. I managed to purchase the fuel pump, tank and the filler pipe all for fifty bucks. All looks mint for being a 97. I know i took a chance with the purchase as far as the pump is concerned but with my filler pipe almost falling apart due to rust i had to get it. He stated the pump is a delphi unit purchased last year. I purchased the setup and I managed to get the pump out of the tank and it states delphi on the pressure sensor. My question is this.. How can i confirm this is a delphi unit. I see the pressure sensor states delphi but I cant seem to locate a PN to crossreference with Rockauto. ALso, with the pump out of the tank, is there anything i can do to actually check the pump out. I rather do the whole swap as a entire unit but i dont want to put a pump in that may not work.. I have a 97 4d blazer. THanks
Anytime you install used parts, you are taking your chance that they may be faulty.
You should be able to test the pump by supplying power to it with it sitting in fuel. You will need to find a way to connect a fuel pressure gauge to the pump before powering it up though. This may not be the easiest thing in the world to do.
Hopefully the donor truck was a 4dr as well.
