Default Fuel Pump Issues

I recently bought a new fuel pump for my 2002 Chevy Blazer LS. I dropped the fuel tank took out the old pump put in a new one put everything back together and it ran great for about a week. A week later while my wife was driving it quit working again, same issue as before. I then went and dropped the tank figureing maybe there was a wireing issue or something of the sort. When i dropped the tank i noticed that the fuel pump pressure sensor was no longer attached to the top of the fuel pump, the sensor came apart from the rubber piece that attaches into the fuel pump. Does this require buying a whole new fuel pump or is possible to replace just the sensor?

If this is the sensor you're having trouble with Buy BWD Fuel Vapor/Vent Pressure Sensor EC2501 at Advance Auto Parts it is the fuel tank pressure sensor, (not fuel pressure) and if the sensor came out of the seal, the seal must be replaced, they are "one use only". What brand was the fuel pump?

Yea that is the sensor im having trouble with, the rubber piece is still stuck inside the fuel pump but the plugin is still connected to the harness on the side of the tank. Im still working on getting the rubber piece with no luck as of yet so ill probably have to take out the fuel pump just to get it out. New Redline by Herko Fuel Pump Module E3954M for GMC and Chevrolet 1997 2002 | eBay is the fuel pump that i recently bought.

Most auto parts stores have, or can get, the seal. If not, you'll need to visit your GM dealer. Cross your fingers with the pump, proper fuel pressure and leakdown is absolutely critical on these engines. Unfortunately, the aftermarket pumps fail miserably, (and prematurely). Check fuel pressure and leakdown after you install it to make sure it's within specs. Regluated pressure needs to 60psi to 66psi, and it must remain above 55psi for at least 10 minutes after the pump shuts off. Maximum pump output pressure needs to be 73psi to 108psi. If it fails any of those, take care of it right away before the warranty runs out.
