Fuel pump running all the time

Default Fuel pump running all the time

i just bought my 2000 blazer and i just have notice that the fuel pump comes on and stays on until i shut off the truck. i know that its on before u start and when u shut it off. any help please.

Do you mean it tends to be noisey? Like a large whine? Its defiantely supposed to stay on the truck, otherwise your in for a few "Oh Sh*t" moments...

its like the fuel pump is running at all times. i know its got to prime, but does it have to continuslly run while i am driving. the other cars i drive i dont hear the pump on while drving.

The pump runs 3 seconds when you turn it on, 3 seconds when you turn it off, and constantly while it's running (sensing crank motion). Did you ever try changing the fuel filter? That might make it quieter.
