Yeah I did. There was a little bit of dirt/rocks at the bottom, I took care of all of that.

Got it running today, feels sooo much better. Fires right up and runs smooth. I am VERY glad I replaced that fuel pump.

 

Ok I need a little advice here.. Ever since I installed the new pump, the main issue is taken care of. However, now when the engine is cold, it seems to take a second longer to start with the new pump compared to the old pump. When it does catch, the rpms go up slowly to idle instead of 'right away' like how it used to. When its warm/running, everythings fine. What do you guys think? Could the new pump be faulty? It is ACDelco, so I hope I didn't spend all that money on a faulty fuel pump!

 

Okie dokie. I kinda zoned through the posts and noticed you did buy a ac delco (TY!)


Ive only once had a bad ac pump,out of at lease 20 ive purchased and owned for years. Hit up autozone etc,they have a free tool loan program. you just leave the retail deposit (since there are so many dbags that doesnt return things) and once you are done with it you get every penny back.


Anyways,pressure must be 58-60 psi at turn key,60 is ideal. Then its gotta hold that for 10 min. Idle pressure is around 52-54.

 

Yeah I went acdelco after hearing all of the negative things about other cheaper brands. I will be renting a fuel pressure tester sometime early this week and going from there. Thanks for the response
