Default fuel pump wont turn on

I have a 2000 blazer and I replaced the fuel pump about three years ago. This December it wouldn't start because the fuel pump wouldn't turn on. After sitting for about a month I went out to try to start it and it worked fine. Last week I tried to start it and the fuel pump wont turn on again. Any suggestions?

Nothing that has not been covered in quite a few other threads.

Check the relay. Other than that, you are probably looking at a new pump. What brand pump did you install 3 years ago?

All of the mechanics I have called said they wont test the relay without the truck being there so I haven't been able to check the relay yet. I don't remember what brand, I bought it from Shuck's Auto Supply for about $400.

Swap the fuel pump relay with the horn relay and try to beep the horn.

Sorry to say, but this is most likely a pump problem. But by all means, test the electrical system out.

So it worked fine for a few days until today. I drove it to school and when I went to go home it started for about 10 seconds, then died and now it wont start again..what the heck? Time to replace the pump again?

Test the fuel pressure. Key on, engine off, pump running, pressure must be 60psi to 66psi. It must remain above 55psi for 3 to 5 minutes after the pump shuts off. Post your results.

Sounds like the pump is going out... a three year old pump may not last long if the fuel filter is clogged too...

We re-grounded the ground wire and it worked fine for a few days and then stopped working again. A friend said on his Blazer he had to put some lubricant on a plug in the fuel pump because his was doing the same thing as mine and now his works fine. He has a 4-door though so he can reach his fuel pump, I have a 2-door so I'll have to drop mine to try it.
