Default Gas tank fill problem 2002

Unable to fill tank without pump cutting off no matter how slow I try to pump the gas. The tank can be 1/4 full, cut offs start immediately. Fuel pump was replaced due to engine cut off problem back in 10/06. My kid was driving the car and complained about the fill problem but never got it back to the dealer. Any suggestions on what to look at would be appreciated. Thanks

I just rec had the same prob, it turned out that the nozzle wasnt at the correct angle.. Sounds stupid but if ya look at most gas pumps it shows how the nozzle has to be in the tank to work properly..

Same here on a 97 blazer and 85 bronco, could only fill at half pump speed. Never did figure it out [:@]

I would inspect the fill pipe. It is possible that there is something in the vent tube or that the dealership hooked something up incorrectly.\

tank may not be venting properly or the fill tube may be pinched

Try filling up in the morning...less fumes.

My 01 does exactly the same thing. Have to HOLD the nozzle at the correct angle.

I guess the venting issue, could explain my PO440 EVAP code, too!
