Gen 1 flange style axles on a Gen 2?

Default Gen 1 flange style axles on a Gen 2?

The title really says it all but has anyone successfully managed to change from Gen 2 style clip in axle half shafts to the Gen 1 bolt-in half shafts?

I'm very interested in converting my 2000 blazer but I'd like to know if anyone else has ever done it.

I also have the 4 button 4wd system. Don't know if that really matters or not but I know it rules out this mod here:

I found the passenger side axle shaft that goes in the end of the tube on gmpartsdirect.com (part# 26034185) but the driver side parts aren't listed on their site...
