Getting new engine installed. Sharing experience
My '02 LS 4X4 blew off the lower radiator hose and overheated enough to cause what appears to be a blown head gasket so Ive opted to install a rebuild from Jasper Engines thru a reputable auto repair shop. https://www.jasperengines.com/find-a-price
Shop is quoting: Total for Parts: $3549. Total for Labor: $2321.
From the Jasper site: 336310 2002 Chevrolet Blazer 4.3/262 V6 Chev 1.00 $2,827.00 Install Kit 1.00 $324.00
Heres a "known issues" document for this engine from their site: https://qms.jasperengines.com/showdo...4dd2acffd0.pdf
Heres their warranty doc: https://qms.jasperengines.com/warranty.asp
Some useful info: https://www.jasperengines.com/literature-downloads
I'd really like to hear from others that have gone down this path. I'm located in North Alabama BTW. God Bless.

Always replace the radiator. The internal oil cooler can hide debris from the old engine and is especially important if you had a bearing failure.
As far as price, the shop will mark up the engine 35-40% from what they can buy it for (not internet price). Shops make money on parts too. That is a fact.
Make sure they put all the bellhousing bolts back. There is one that is very difficult if they shortcut and remove engine with transmission and transfer case in place. Remember you are paying them to do things per factory procedures.

For the Known Issues Doc...try this:
1) https://www.jasperengines.com/literature-downloads
2) -> Gas Engines
3) -> GM
4) -> GM 4.3/262 UPDATES
5) -> Press the View Selected Document button

Interestingly enough....the price that the shop is quoting is exactly what the engine supplier is quoting.
How is putting in a larger nonstock engine going to cost less money? And how is it going to not be problematic in some way?
