ya if you ask for something in writing they SHOULD give it to you. If not then just do like what spittybays said, just don't get carried away and get your self kicked out of the shop lol. So if anything down the road starts sounding funny or running funny related to that, if you have the previous issue in writing then you should be able to go after them for it.

I'm with spittybays on this one! Carbon chunks from the EGR valve make their way into combustion chambers all the time. They're instantly pulverized and never make a sound. Better get something in writing.

Another thing to be concerned about is the intake gasket. OEM gaskets are inferior and will leak again... guaranteed. Should have a Felpro MS98002T gasket.

im with EVERYONE else on this one. make sure that you get something in writing that says that a "piece of carbon" fell in the engine. thats a load of BS i think. get some papers and CYA.
best of luck.

That rock hard piece of carbon had to pass by the intake valve if they didnt remove the head. What will they say when a leak down test shows -20% on that cyl from a 'slightly' nicked valve. Dood you clean all rock hard pieces of carbon off the lim when its off the motor.

I would have demanded to look at the damage myself before they put back together.

Got my Blazer back this morning along with a 12 month - 12,000 mile warranty.....

Drove it home from the dealership. (less than 2 miles) The truck ran great.

I parked it in the garage and it sat for 6 hours before I started it back up.

Once started there was a horrible screeching/squeaking/humming noise coming from the driver side of the engine. I'm pissed !

What could that noise be ?

Any advise on how to handle this with the dealership ?

Is it coming from the engine it self and not the belt or something? Regardless you'll just have to take it back, complain, and get them to fix it.

This morning I had the truck towed across town to the dealership....

They called me about an hour later and told me it was a seized up tension pulley.

They replaced it for free and truck seems to run great.

This whole thing sounds strange......

Only time will tell but, I hope everything is done and over with now.
