hello everybody, I just bought a 2000 jimmy, 4x4, 4.3, and i would like to change the oil, spark plug, wires, and air filter, what kind/brand is the best way to go?i have a 94 grand prix and i always used syntetic oil, and the best expensive stuff and it gave me very good results, i like to have my car running like new, so i need some ideas for my jimmy...what do you guys use??

 

AC Delco plugs and cap/rotor. I like Belden wires from NAPA(plus they are blue so they match my truck), NAPA Gold filters, (same as WIX). Use whatever oil you like the best, of course stick with a brand name and keep it changed. Although some people don't like Pennzoil,I have seen trucks with 1,000,000 miles using Pennzoil. Yes that is a million. Korey.

Mobil 1 5w-30 full synthetic
K&N Air Filter

 

I usually try to stick with OEM, AC Delco all the way!

 

I get my plugs & wires from NAPA. I also use the the same wires as Kordog, the heavy duty ones.
I just buy my oil filter,air filter and oil from Canadian Tire. If my truck was newer and in better shape I might spend more than I do for better products, but I have always been satisfied with CT name brand filters.

 

Yup, Yup, and Yup! I couldn't agree more. I have used the Belden Premium wires from NAPA for MANY years. Nothing but good things to say about them.

On the oil and filter, if you change it regularly (every 3000 miles), then it really doesn't matter what you use. At that interval, everything is pretty much the same. For filters, I prefer the Purolator PureOne, Purolator Plus filters, or Napa Gold (Wix). The AC Delco's are good too. So are the K&N & Mobil, but at like 8x more $$$, they aren't worth it. Best bang for your buck on a filter include any one of the first three that I mentioned.
