got a tick going on and misfire
Hi guys,
I am new to blazer forum, at least posting, but have been reading like mad in here for years! Ok I have a problem. It all started with me driving up a big hill, and got a code misfire cylinder 3. also got an oxygen sensor code. Now I just erased them and kept driving! Soon I started getting a bad tick. The tick went away, and came back. So I added some sea foam to the oil thinking it was a sticky lifter. The tick got worse like it was low on oil. Soooo, I thought the spider was clogged up, so I took off the plenum and pulled the spider ( man the thing looked like my kids were playing with it in a sand box), cleaned the spider, and replaced. Now I am getting cylinder 6 misfire consistently, and bad idle. I figured out that there was a bad gasket on the spider to the plenum. I know that replacing the seals will not stop the tick right? Would the o2 sensor cause a tick or misfire? This is what I am asking. I really would like a bit of help here. I am going to pull #6 plug, and replace. Get the seals for the plenum. Any advice on the tick? I do not want to blow the motor... thanks all
