If you have never done it before it can be intimidating. I don't really think it is that bad.

newguy: do not see how the CV axle would ever come-out without removing the wheel bearing/hub....unless you forced the CV joints to a severe angle, which would be fine for the one coming-out but would not want to do that to the new one.

But thinking more....I did not try separating the tie rod end which would allow the spindle additional movement....this may be enough to have allowed the CV axle to come-out....did not try that. Is that what you did?

For what it is worth....took me a total of 3 hours start to finish to replace the passenger side CV axle....and that includes the 8 yr old neighbor stopping by and asking questions, helping retrive their dog, retriving my dog, and water breaks. Did the job in my driveway on a Saturday morning.

Not a bad job to do overall. Easier than doing plugs and wires...LOL....

That is so true.... if your time is worth $0.00 per hour

Ok so im pretty bummed out....
I got the cardone axles plus the seals and ended up changing it all(reaching the bolts on the casings was a absolute pain in the ***)
However whats more of a pain in the *** is that when all was done I drove it again and the noise was still there. Its safe to say this did absolutely nothing and wasn't even related to the problem that I have...
What else can I look into??? I was told that the bushings might cause this too but when I first got the car I had bushing problems so I had the upper control arm bushings all changed both side and also the ball joints changed as well. Even before the change there was no noise like the one im experiencing right now so I don't think those are related either...
Anything else I can look into??

Wonder if the front diff locking ring is hitting when turning or accelerating...?? Perhaps check the 4wd actuator cable....does it move freely or is it stuck?

Just a thought.

I was suggested to check the sway bar linkage. I will check those too once I do these
