2001 Blazer. Going to bypass core. I have read all the posts and feel comfortable doing it but I am wondering, what coupler size do I need, or rubber tube size and clamp size ? Just need to get the correct part. Is the OE line 3/8ths of an inch ? I just want to connect the tubes together. Thanks so much.

 

Or is it 3/4 to 5/8ths ? Anyone ?

 

oddly enough one is 5/8 and one is 3/4

i looked it up on autozone site.

Hey! First off don't cut any of the existing formed hoses if you feel they are servicable for future use! Just get a 3/4'' hose from a reel at work-reef down on the smaller line,but not too hard!You should be able to keep the original hoses in place during this cheat-fix,but I recommend zip-ties to keep them away from moving pulleys.

 

most parts places have a short plastic ****** nipple that reduces from one size to the other just for that. had to do it on my 2000 as a temporary fix until i could replace the core. replacing the core required removing the entire dash which wasn't as bad as it sounds, but if you do it and get to removing the black box that covers the core it may be screwed from the engine compartment side. manual said the screws were in the passenger compartment but mine were behind the engine on the firewall and the biggest p.i.t.a. of the whole job. good luck

 

its 5/8 to 3/4 plastic fitting they sell it at autozone in the clamps section
