Default heater core issue 1999 jimmy

I have my dash swung down on its pivots, I have removed the bolt under the blower motor resistor, the nut next to the intlet/outlet pipes, the 2 nuts on the bottom of the hvac assembly (in the engine bay behind the wheel well area) I removed a bolt on the bottom of the hvac assembly under the glove box that appears to be holding it to the firewall. I cannot get the HVAC assembly to come off of the firewall. I am at a total loss here. even the instructions in the repair manual I have suck and don't help me here.

What am I missing here?

I was under the impression I can tilt the hvac box back enough to slide my heater core up and out. I cannot make this box move at all. I fear if I pull any harder than I already have im going to break something, there has to be something holding it.

Hmmm, must be a Haynes or Chilton manual, they're junk, as you're finding out. Seems like I remember two nuts on studs that go through the firewall: One by the heater core tubes, the other toward the center of the firewall. You will need to totally remove the heater case and disassemble it to replace the heater core.
