Default heater house question

Ok im going to do a cooling system flush with that flush kit thing with the T and the spout. The T needs to be connected into the heater core inlet hose. Which hose is this I know its one of the two going into the firewall?

I put mine in on the level part right on top of the engine behind the alt.

Make sure you remove the t-stat when doing the flush, or you'll be stuck with a wholleee lot of water in the system [:@]

Edit: And it's the lower of the two hoses

Im using unmixed coolant so can I leave the T-stat in and just dump in about 1.5 gallons of the unmixed?

I don't think you'll get an effective flush if you keep the thermostat in. It's designed to open at 195 degrees and your cold water from the hose will probably prevent it from getting to that temperature, so you'll be flushing through the water pump's bypass circuit (which it uses until the thermostat opens).

yea...take the thermostat out. If you're doing a flush, it's a good time to replace the t-stat anyway. They're like 6 bucks.

Stant good, I'm sure the Delco and Gates are too. Just be sure you get one that's designed to stay open if it goes bad (used to be when they went bad, they stayed closed = overheating). I think all new Stants are that way now.
