well first, use the search on the forum. There are many people with the same question. And we need more details to help you... did it just turn off? slowly die? Does the dash light up when you put the key in accessory? ect...

Ok so it stalled out and backfired when it completely stalled out. So when I got it home I had no spark. And when trying to start the truck it sounded like it was out of time. So I pulled the distributor out tonight and the plate that holds the rotor on hits the cam sensor and stops so I will buy a new distributor tomorrow and I'm sure that was my issue.

Wow...now that is some really worn-out distributor shaft bushings!

I thought the one in my Blazer was bad because the rotor would rub on the distributor cap. I got one of the aluminum shaft distributors off of ebay for like $50 and has been perfect ever since.

I do not know why the OE distributor bushings wear-out so fast, only had 95k miles on it, but they sure were. I was a bit skeptical about the cheap distributor, but has proven to be just fine.

After I replaced the distributor it ran like crappie but it ran the upper intake gasket blew out i guess when it backfired. Come to find d out someone put the wrong bolt on the rear of the intake and other was missing one bolt. I believe if it had all the bolts and had the one in the correct place it wouldn't have blown out. Now it runs great
