Help ; Key wont turn to off, stuck in ignition!
Help!
I recently got a blazer with two sets of keys, the one spare set i was told could only be used a few times for some reason and then it will stop working.
unfoutunately i had to use the spare key today and now it will not turn all the way off for me to be able to take it out.
its stuck on accessory mode which leaves the odometer light on and the battery light. (starts no problem)
I have tried to push the fail safe release button through the hole in the steering column but it does not appear to be doing anything.
Any ideas would be appreciated, please!
I have 1998 s10 blazer
Thanks!

that happened to me with my 97 blazer a lot... i bought this penetrating key release oil at my auto shop, sprayed it in there and let it sit for a while. When u go to get the key out jiggle the steering wheel and the key until u can get it out.... Another reason the key would get stuck had something to do with putting the car in park.. I would have to put it in and out of park until I heard it click, and the key would release.

i had that problem in my 97 blazer also had trouble putting it in the drive from park. but under the steering column cover its a kinda numismatic cilander (right where the key goes in (white plastic))the when you shift in to park if goes in push that and the key should come out. how i fixed it is i replaces the ignition switch which fixed a lot of problems for me excepted shifting in to drive from park.
