My brother in law just bought a 99 Blazer at an auction, it was running when they bought it. They waited in line and when they were ready to pick it up it was being towed. They were told that it was a connection between the fuel pump and battery. They ran wire and it started. Can anyone help us to troubleshoot this?

If you were able to jumper the pump and it would work, then you'll want to check out the fuel pump relay and the fuel pump fuse, both should be located in the underhood fuse box on the driver's side inner fender.
