It was explained to me that it is something in the ecm that will block the signal from fuel sensor it help with fuel gauge needle bouncing around. I noticed it also on my 02 Montanna. Not much your going to do now except keep it filled above 1/4 tank. It's not the answer I want to hear.

#1 Cut the freakin' language.
#2 Please do not post in caps.
#3 You resurrected a thread that is over a year old for what??? Just to rant and rave?? What a waste.
Now, the actual problem is the sulfur in the fuels coating the sensor grid. Complain about the fuel! Dodge, Ford, GM, Toyota, Honda, etc all have had problems of this type in this time period. Some are better than others, but it comes right down to the fuel. Run a fuel system treatment at every other oil change and I can assure you that you won't ever have a problem. Once the grid gets coated, it is likely that it will never operate properly again.
About the access panel. My Bonneville had one. My Intrepid had one. Many GM cars have them. It really isn't that difficult to drop a tank (and yes, I have done a few...). When you have no alternative, you add an access door. Is there an access door in the bed of a Tacoma? I think not.
If you need help, post about it. But cut the crappy attitude!
