Help. Guage cluster background lights.
#1
I've been having this problem for a while now but with my 05 Blazer but I could live with it. A couple of background lights blew out on my guage cluster, they were like that when I bought the vehicle, but it was just the outer guages, like gas, temp and oil pressure that were dim. But now more have blown out and I can't see the left side of my cluster at night... at all; from the 3000 rpm mark on my tach on.
What's the PN# for the lights in the guages, and how do I go about pulling the cluster out to get at them?

I'm not sure if THIS thread will help as it does not mention any PNs and really does not show how to remove the cluster. But that is assuming that you have a 2nd gen... We really need some vehicle information from you to help further. Vehicle information is necessary for any and all posts made requesting help.

It's an 05 2dr M/T 4x4. I had mentionned the year in my original post but if one were just scanning quickly through I can see how it could be missed.
Should I have put this in the 2nd Gen sub?

Ah, but when you edit that information in, it does not show up for those that opened this thread prior to you submitting the edit. So even though you editted the information in and I responded after the edit, the version of your thread that I was reading was not updated. The best way to handle this is to just put your vehicle information in your signature.

Thanks for the tip...
Any hits on the background lights for the cluster?

Did you read the link provided?
Now that the year information is known, you have to remove the lower hush panel under the steering column to gain access to the lower retaining screws for the gauge surround. There are also two screws above the cluster for the surround and some spring clips around the outer edge. Then there are 4 screws holding the cluster in. Once you have it out, you should be able to see the lights. They can be a pain to remove, but from there you can modify 194 bulbs to fit in them, or make the change to LEDs like the link I provided earlier explains.

I tore into this last night and got it fixed. Somebody told me it was a huge job, but that was nothing compared to installing my hitch. 10 minutes and the guage cluster was sitting on my lap.
Thanks for the help.
