HELP I am lost when it comes to DTS codes
I have a dts code in my blazer. it is a 2000 model . I keep recieving P0340 cam shaft position sensor bank 1 malfuntion. When I pull up freeze frame data this is what I get:
Calc load 23.1
st ftrm1(%) 1.5
lt ftrm1(%) 7.8
st ftrm2(%) -3.1
lt ftrm2(%) 7.8
map 20.4
rpm 1878
speed 49
maf 4.922
abslt tps 25.8
I dont know what most of this means. I am self taught when it comes to auto repair. Aslo I need to figure out where this sensor is located so i can replace it if need be. My manual says one thing and various users users say different here. I have a 4.6 liter engine. manual says on front of engine perpendicular to something and some say on distributer. where is it.

First up if it wasn't a typo on your part you have a 4.3 engine not a 4.6.
The Camshaft Position Sensor is located in the distributor, under the cap & rotor. Remove your cap & rotor and the sensor connector and remove the 2 screws on the sensor.
Before you look to replace it however, check the connector to the sensor and the condition of the wiring.
Hope this helped.
