Can anyone shed some light on these please?
I swaped out the 4WD switch at the weekend, (4WD now works ), on removing the dashboard to do this I came across this wrapped in tin foil. Anyone know what it is and why the tin foil please?
Also I found a disconnected wire behind the dome light switch, any ideas what it is for?
Whilst I had the dome light switch off I found the bulb that illuminates it has failed as have some of the bulbs in the 4WD switch. Does anyone know what type they are please?
Judging by the gauge units of measurements and the background of the photos, this is a right hand drive Blazer?
Not really sure about the foil... Peel it off and see if there's a part number on whatever it is? Do you have working remote entry key fobs? Maybe a previous owner got paranoid and covered the receiver module for it with foil? Lol I don't know, just throwing out ideas.
The plug, possibly the plug for fog lights if your Blazer is not equipped with them? US Blazer's come pre-wired in the dash at the switch for fog lights, although the plug looks different...
Both!
For some reason, the UK insurance industry does not recognise the US imobeliser system, so it has the US one which is the primary remote, followed by an aftermarket one. It’s a pain in the **** but it is what it is!
When GM/ Vauxhall decided to import the Blazer to the UK the UK insurance research organisation - Thatcham advised that the factory fitted alarm system was not to the UK standard and GM had to retro-fit an additional system.
I live close to Cherbourg which has a French naval base. After moving to France I was in Cherbourg one cloudy overcast day and the Blazer refused to start. Apparently the French naval radar system had fried the UK alarm system, it was removed and I now just have the original GM system. Luckily the French insurers paid for the removal!!
