P.S. Hell yeah, it wasn't UK standard, it doesn't get fried by radars :P

[QUOTEI smell a scam here. Is their work public, so that You can see the research results (like US FCC for example)? Or just the conclusion, that You have to spend the money to be their standard compliant? What about freedom of choice[1]? What happens if You refuse to "downgrade" Your system?][/QUOTE]
The buyer didn't have a choice, 'upgrade' carried out in the UK 'import centre' before sale. No doubt if I returned vehicle to UK it would need system to be reinstalled. As that is very unlikely then I have nothing to worry about accept my ABS, which is another subject on another posting.

I don't thing there are many UK Blazers left with the European imposed secondary system, It was 'piggybacked' to the original set up when imported and most went wrong at any early stage, I seem to remember that Bauer Millet were the only company to have the correct software to remove the add on and leave the original working correctly. Certainly all the three Blazers I have owned have been restored back to the factory set up and 'touch wood' have never given any trouble with non-starting.
I don't think there is now any issue with insurance as the vehicles are of an age where the values are so low it barely makes a claim worthwhile in any event. My 2001 full service history LT with 83.000 miles has an insurance value of around £500 and the UK car buying site We Buy Any Car value it at £50! Good job I have no intention of selling...

Don't care what value the car is worth, a 4X4 here in Normandy is a useful tool.
My problem is that as the Blazer gets older so do I, not sure which will expire first.
