Help please
I have a 2001 blazer. I started with the engine dieing all of a sudden. I have final narrowed it down to no spark.I have replaced Ignition coil, Ignition model , crank position sensor, ignition switch, and no fire at the coil. I am getting power to the coil just no spark. Any help would be appreciated.
I would start by testing the resistance (<5 ohms) across the various contacts in the ignition switch. Very common to have them go out in these trucks with widely varying symptoms. The link in the bottom of my signature below should provide the necessary information for getting that done. Let us know when you're done and the results of the testing.
just wanted to update my post. I got a schematic of my ignition checked everything and was checking ok. Then just happen to move wire connector to the coil and found my problem. BAD WIRE right on connector. Man what a headache for such a small thing. Looked like it was arcing and screwing with the computer. replaced wire now all is good.
It took me a couple hours to change it. Very easy to do.
If I found that deal I would jump on it. Just make sure I s the pump.
61000 miles and he only wants 750 for it? Make sure hes got a clear title in HIS name..sounds fishy even if it doesnt run. Make sure it turns over too.
OP
Sucks you replaced all those things for nothing. I guess you got new spark stuff now huh. I hope you replaced the ignition module with a ac delco. aftermarket modules are like the pumps. hit or miss.
