Yep i wouldn't even bother making the special fitting required to test the pressure right after the pump, although it's nice to have. Your symptoms are exactly like everyone else who has had a failing spider. Just trying to help you save time

I was able to get mine to attach to the pump with some fittings I had in my garage. Although I'm sure it wouldn't cost more than five bucks at home depot to get something.

While it's probably the spider/regulator, it sure would suck to go through the effort/expense of replacing it and find out it was the pump all along!

It only takes fifteen minutes to pull the upper plenum to better check for signs of washing. You can't see too much peering though the throttle. I would at least do that before I paid for a new spider or even a regulator.

 

Yes do this, or post a picture so we can tell you for sure. I have just seen this issue a lot (happened to both blazers i own) If you can see any washing at all looking through the throttle then you have one of the tubes leaking. But before you order parts, go make yourself 100% sure or post a picture.

definitely some signs of washing. I'm not real familiar with the newer style of injection yours has, mine has the CPI style. But I would say there is a leak in your plenum.

Talking with Captain Hook, he said that the plenum actually appears normal, and we narrowed the problem down to the fuel pump. Not that there's not a small leak in the plenum, but I have no pressure at the pump. I am going to drop the tank tonight and see what the voltage is or isn't at the module connector.
