That is the old style spider, if you have the money i would be tempted to get the newer upgrade while its apart

You can hook the fuel lines back up and turn the key to run. Have someone watch to see if they can see a leak. Or crank it. It will not start and may backfire.

I'm glad you were able to correctly diagnosis it! Blindly throwing parts and money at problems will only lead to frustration and a lighter wallet. I would go by what the Captain says, he is by far more knowledgeable about these trucks than just about anyone on here!

After a couple hours, lots of foul words, a busted thumb, and some dumbass moments, finally got my truck fired back up and running. I now have to put a water pump on it as it decided while I was changing the fuel pump out to puke antifreeze all over my driveway..doh!! Anyway, I appreciate all the help and info!

Hmm yeah that intake does look normal. I thought there would be a lot more gold than that. But that's why i said take a picture to show us before you get the parts! I wasn't telling him to blindly do anything if that's what the impression was.
