Help replacing rear shocks on my 99 blazer
I went to replace the rear shocks on my 99 blazer and everything was going good until one of the top bolts will not come out. It just spins and spins. Any ideas on how to remove that bolt.

Did you maybe break the retaining clip that goes on the frame and it's now spinning?
Two of my clips broke when I took my rear shocks off (factory shocks at 162,000) and I had to use nuts+washers+bolts to secure the new shocks to the frame. I dropped new bolts through the top of the frame and screwed nuts on from the bottom.
I think I remember using vice grips to clamp onto the frame clips that broke. It was a PITA, but not as bad as doing the front shocks without a stubby 18mm wrench..!

Just got back from vacation. Now I can continue working on the rear shocks. I looked on top of the frame were the bolt comes thru to see if I could see a clip turning and the only thing I couls see was the top of the bolt turning. I didn't see any clip of any kind.

the clips look similar to this (probally with a little added rust)..... http://trialstribulations.net/images...p_1024x768.jpg they allways break where the bend is.

After I get the bolt out is there anyway to get a clip back in there. There is only about a 1 inch gap between the frame and the body. Or is it just easier to use a nut an bolt. I guess the easiest way to grab the clip to get the bolt out would be with a pair of vise grips or is there an easier way to do it.

You can get new clips from GM; I doubt the parts stores will have the right clips. Make life easy for next time and just get grade-8 nuts/bolts/washers (grade 5 would suffice).
Edit- consider lock-washers or lock-nuts.
