Default Help--wacky things happening with electrical!

Some months ago, the electrical system on my 97 Chevy Blazer started acting funny. At first the problem was intermittent, but now it is constant.

Here is what happened when I started the truck: Sometimes the ABS light would come on when starting and would then not go out. Whenever this happened, and while the ABS light was on, neither the power windows nor heater blower would work. After driving for a short while, the brake light would come on, the ABS light would go out, then the brake light would go out—and power windows and blower would then function properly. Sometimes I could push the power window button, and the cycle would begin (brake light on, ABS light off, brake light off, everything works…). Other times (and all the time now) if I push the power window button, the ABS light will flicker slightly, but nothing more happens.

As I said, now the ABS light stays on constantly and my power windows and blower never work. Last week the brake light came on while driving, the ABS light went out, then the brake light went out and almost simultaneously the ABS light came back on (and windows and blower did not work). This cycle continued for a few moments at a consistent rate until the ABS light stayed on.

Most of the time, when multiple systems are affected, the problem is the ignition switch. It is a known problem area with these trucks and is not all that difficult to replace.
